Tracked Fencing Machine Hire
machine and operator, or the whole fence
A tracked fencing machine and an operator who runs one every week, anywhere in the North West. Long runs driven straight and fast — or hand us the whole fencing package and we will simply build it for you.
Built for the runs that eat days
A tracked fencing machine earns its money on length. Once a fence line runs into hundreds of metres, the job stops being about strength and starts being about rhythm: line out, position, drive, move, repeat, without stopping to reposition a tractor or drag a compressor along a field margin. That rhythm is where the days come out of a programme, and it is why contractors ring us for the machine rather than for more labour.
Because it is tracked it goes where the fence line actually is. Embankments, wet margins, reinstated ground alongside a carriageway, woodland edges and compounds are all normal working conditions rather than reasons to stop. It holds a gradient, it does not churn the ground getting to the work, and it puts the mast on the line instead of near it.
We supply it with an operator. That is deliberate: the output difference between somebody who runs this kit weekly and somebody who has read the manual is enormous, and on a priced fencing job that difference is the margin. If you would rather not manage the fencing at all, we are a fencing contractor in our own right and will price the whole package instead.
- Long runs of stock and agricultural fencing
- Deer, security and weldmesh fencing
- Highways and motorway boundary fencing
- Ecological and mammal exclusion fencing
- Post and rail and estate fencing
- Embankments, verges and reinstated ground
- Supplied with an experienced operator
- Or priced as a complete fencing package
The machine is the easy part. The operator is not.
An operator who runs it weekly
This is our own kit on our own fencing contracts, so the person on it is not learning at your expense. On a long run that is the difference between finishing on Thursday and finishing the following Tuesday.
Tracked access as standard
Banks, soft ground, field margins and reinstated verges are where most fence lines actually sit. Tracks get the machine to the line without wrecking the ground on the way in.
Cleared for live highways work
National Highways Sector Scheme 18 registered, plus CHAS, Constructionline Gold, Achilles UVDB Silver Plus and ISO 9001. Machine, operator and paperwork can all go on a live corridor.
Machine only, or the whole fence
Take the machine and operator on a day rate and run it into your own programme, or hand us line, posts, wire, panels and gates and take a single price for the finished fence.
Covering Lancashire & the wider North West
We supply the tracked fencing machine right across the North West. Choose your area, or see everywhere we cover.
Tracked Fencing Machine Hire — frequently asked questions
Is the fencing machine available without an operator?
Normally no. The tracked fencing machine goes out with one of our operators, because output and safety both depend heavily on experience with this particular kit. If you specifically need dry hire, our tracked post knocker can go out that way, so start there and tell us what the job is.
What is the difference between this and the post knocker?
They overlap. The tracked post knocker is the machine most people mean when they ring about driving posts, and it can go out on dry hire. The fencing machine is the answer when the job is long, continuous fence line and you want the whole operation running as one rhythm with an operator on it. Describe the job and we will tell you which one suits.
Can you supply the fencing materials as well?
Yes. We install commercial, agricultural, security and ecological fencing as a contractor, so we can supply and fit posts, stock netting, weldmesh, post and rail, gates and mammal or reptile exclusion systems. Most clients find one price for the finished fence easier to manage than a machine, a materials order and a labour gang.
Can you work on a live highways or rail corridor?
On highways, yes. We are registered under National Highways Sector Scheme 18 and regularly work on live corridors for main contractors including Kier, with traffic management, permits and inductions handled as normal. Tell us the scheme and who is running it.
How much fence can you install in a day?
It depends on the specification, the ground and the access far more than on the machine. Straight runs of stock fencing on workable ground move quickly. Mesh, ecological fencing with a buried apron, rocky ground or fencing behind traffic management all move slowly. Give us the spec and a location and we will give you a realistic programme.
What does it cost?
Machine and operator are usually a day rate. A complete fencing package is priced against the specification and the length. Call 01772 343285 or request a free site survey and we will get you a number.
Which areas do you cover?
Right across the North West of England — Blackpool and the Fylde, Preston, Lancaster, Blackburn and wider Lancashire, plus Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. For larger fencing contracts and framework work we travel further.
One contractor for the whole site
Most clients use us for more than one service. Because it's the same crew and one point of contact, the work joins up.
