We strim and brush-cut overgrown areas, cut back hedges and scrub, and flail heavier growth — planned around the site and the season so access, sightlines and boundaries stay clear rather than disappearing under a summer's growth.
The job is really about bringing the right kit for the access. For tight or sensitive areas we use hand-held strimmers and brush-cutters; for heavy growth and larger areas we run a flail mounted on our tracked machine. Because we also clear land and carry out tree work, we can take a boundary from light strimming all the way through to full clearance with one crew.
Vegetation work is carried out under our health, safety and environmental procedures, with consideration for nesting birds and protected species where it applies. As a CHAS, Constructionline Gold and Achilles-accredited contractor with £10 million public liability cover and National Highways Sector Scheme registration, we're set up for verge and boundary work on highways and utilities schemes as well as commercial sites.

Vegetation Management — frequently asked questions
What's the difference between vegetation management and land clearance?
Vegetation management is ongoing control — strimming, hedge and scrub cutting, flailing — to keep growth in check. Land clearance is a heavier, one-off strip of a site including stumps, roots and spoil. We do both, and on the survey we'll tell you which your site actually needs.
Can you handle heavy, overgrown growth?
Yes. For light areas we use hand-held strimmers and brush-cutters; for heavy growth and larger areas we run a flail on our tracked machine. If growth has gone beyond cutting and needs a full strip, we can switch to land clearance with the same crew.
Do you offer seasonal or ongoing programmes?
We do. Most verge, boundary and site clearance works best as a planned seasonal programme so it never gets out of control. We'll set a frequency that suits the site and your contract.
Do you consider nesting birds and protected species?
Yes. Vegetation and hedge cutting is planned around nesting-bird season and any protected-species constraints, in line with the relevant legislation. We'll flag anything that affects timing on the survey.
Do you clear verges for highways and utilities?
Yes. We hold National Highways Sector Scheme registration and the accreditations needed for verge, sightline and boundary clearance on highways and utilities schemes, as well as commercial and council sites.
