GGT carries out commercial tree work across the North West — felling, sectional dismantling over targets, crown reductions, thinning and lifting, deadwooding, storm-damage clearance and stump grinding. Our climbers are NPTC / City & Guilds qualified and set up to work safely near buildings, live roads and the public, which is where most commercial and highways tree work actually happens.
We've cleared trees and vegetation on constrained sites like the M6 at Lune Gorge, working to highways access and safety requirements. Arisings are chipped and removed as we go, so the site is left clear rather than covered in brash. For larger jobs we use our own access platform and chipper instead of waiting on plant hire, which keeps the work moving and the cost down.
All tree work is planned with the right method statements, risk assessments and traffic-management where needed, and we can advise where work is constrained by Tree Preservation Orders or conservation areas. As a CHAS, Constructionline Gold and Achilles-accredited contractor carrying £10 million public liability cover, we're set up for the commercial, council, utilities and highways tree work that needs proper pre-qualification.

Are your tree surgeons qualified?
Yes. Our climbers hold NPTC / City & Guilds qualifications and work to industry safety standards. We carry out work near buildings, live roads and the public with the right method statements, risk assessments and traffic-management in place.
Can you work on trees near roads, buildings or power lines?
Yes — that's most of our commercial work. We sectionally dismantle trees over targets, set up traffic-management where work is near highways, and plan each job so the trees come down safely without damaging what's around them.
What happens to the branches and timber?
Arisings are chipped on site as we work, so the area is left clear. Chip and timber are removed or reused as agreed, and we can grind out stumps so there's nothing left to reinstate around.
Can you advise on Tree Preservation Orders and conservation areas?
We can. Where a tree is protected by a TPO or sits in a conservation area, work usually needs consent from the local authority first. We'll flag this on the survey and help you understand what's needed before any work starts.
Do you handle emergency or storm-damage tree work?
