The brief

Tree and vegetation clearance was needed along the M6 at Lune Gorge — one of the most exposed stretches of the motorway network, where every movement of crew and plant has to work around highways access and safety requirements.

What we did

• Felled and cleared trees and vegetation along the affected stretch of the M6
• Worked to the scheme's highways access and safety requirements throughout
• Chipped arisings on site rather than hauling them off the network
• Removed cleared material and left the corridor ready for the next phase

The result

The corridor was cleared and material removed in line with the access and safety requirements, with arisings chipped on site to keep vehicle movements down.
